We had a difficult time mid season when he got a twinge but the team worked very hard to get him back for Aintree. To see him win a £100k Handicap on Grand National day was really exciting. I've no fixed plan at the moment but I'm hopeful of another good season. It's worth mentioning he's a novice until December 1st so that's an angle we may exploit but we'll also look at the bigger handicaps." Dan Skelton
Mr Hope Street made his 26-27 seasonal debut finishing 3rd at Stratford under regular jockey Harry Skelton. The trip was short of his best, the track too sharp but the ground had plenty of cut so it was a ‘no brainer’ for Dan to come here as our options were limited. He always takes a run to warm into his season so with the £250,000 Coral Cup on 28th November firmly in mind this was a vital day in his prep.
Harry came back absolutely thrilled as Mr Hope Street jumped very well, travelled well, took a blow approaching the last but stayed on nicely. It was the perfect trial run that sets up nicely for Newbury.
