A Winning Team
David and Noel first met in 1998 at trainer Charlie Mann’s yard and have since been the best of friends.
Both were successful jockeys with David riding a Cheltenham Festival winner for Nicky Henderson in the same season he was crowned Champion Amateur. David had many breaks in his career but not of the right kind as they were often career threatening injuries to his legs, shoulders and arms.
Noel enjoyed a stellar career with 1353 winners including the Champion Hurdle twice, Champion Chase and King George twice among 27 Grade One victories. He is one of the very best to ride a horse.
As the pair came to the end of their riding careers the candle still burned brightly to stay working within the sport. This ambition saw the foundation of “Noel Fehily Racing” built.
With 56 years of combined experience they are extremely knowledgeable, have great contacts and are very much respected by everyone in the industry.
On November 7th 2019 their first runner Pride Of Lecale won at Market Rasen and since then it’s been a steady stream of success on the track including a Cheltenham Festival winner with Love Envoi.
Should you take a share in one of our horses you’ll regularly hear Noel and David use the term ‘team’ with good reason. Everyone at Noel Fehily Racing is part of the team and part of the family.

Noel Fehily
Noel started his career as an amateur in Ireland riding approximately 80 Irish Point winners before coming across the pond to Charlie Mann’s yard in 1998. His talent was obvious, his profile grew with Noel duly crowned ‘Champion Conditional’ in 2001.
Thought by many to be the best jockey in the business with a phenomenal judge of pace and the quietest of hands Noel rode his first Grade 1 winner on Air Force One in 2008. That was just the beginning as 27 Grade 1 victories are now listed within his incredibly impressive career total of 1353 winners.
Noel was always a man for the big day with his CV boasting 2 x Champion Hurdle’s (Rock On Ruby & Buveur D’Air), 1 x Champion Chase, 2 x King George’s (Silviniaco Conte), 2 x Betfair Bowl winners plus a Tingle Creek on Master Minded. It’s a list of pure quality.
In typical fashion Noel went out on a high when victorious on his last ride at Newbury on 23rd March 2019. Since retirement from the saddle Noel has shown a high level of sound judgement buying great quality stock and also an abundance of skill to prepare those horses for their racing career at his Hagg Hill base.
David Crosse
David was a very talented jockey who started his riding career in 1998 as an amateur attached to Charlie Mann’s busy yard in Lambourn.
Just three years later “Crossey” was crowned Champion Amateur having ridden 21 winners in the 2001-02 season which included a memorable victory at the Cheltenham Festival on The Bushkeeper for Nicky Henderson.
The following season Crossey turned ‘conditional’ and after riding his 75th winner automatically advanced to full professional status but unfortunately he far too often received breaks of the wrong kind to his legs, shoulders, ribs and collarbones.
Despite these frequent long absences from the weighing room he showed admirable courage and determination to fight back each time to ride 207 winners in his career before retiring from the saddle at Kempton Park in December 2020.
Since hanging up his boots David’s remarkable work ethic, enthusiasm and natural humour has seen him build a thriving racecourse hospitality business, plus with Noel in partnership their syndicated ownership business continues to grow and be very successful.
