Major Fortune

Trained by Dan Skelton

7FORM 45111112-166P4203-401221-   OR 127

"He's won 8 handicaps which I think is a Noel Fehily Racing record but he can still add to the tally. A consistent horse who loves an extended trip and some soft ground. Having won his final race of the season at Haydock we may need the handicapper to give him a chance but I'm very happy where we are with him." Dan Skelton

Major Fortune has been a remarkable horse for his owners with eight handicap wins to his name and there is optimism of more to come.  ‘The Major’ has been beautifully trained, ridden and placed over the last three seasons by the Skelton team.

Two wins at Wincanton and Haydock were added to Major Fortune’s tally last winter. Unfortunately the handicapper was watching so he now sits on a career high mark of 127.  This will make life tougher when the season gets under way but this horse continues to surprise with what he can do.

All his connections are really looking forward to seeing ‘The Major’ race again this season.  He’ll surely be placed to advantage at some stage.

About the Trainer

Dan Skelton

Dan Skelton has rapidly established himself as one of the leading trainers in National Hunt racing. Based in Warwickshire, Skelton began his career working under Paul Nicholls, where he honed his skills before setting up his own yard in 2013. In a relatively short time, Skelton has made a significant impact on the sport, training multiple winners at the Cheltenham Festival and other major meetings. Known for his sharp strategic approach and excellent race planning, he’s developed a reputation for getting the best out of his horses, particularly in big handicaps. His yard is also noted for its strong team ethic, with his brother Harry Skelton, a top jockey, often partnering their best horses. Skelton’s ability to build a competitive stable so quickly has made him a force in jumps racing.
