"Kado De Joie ran a nice race on chase debut but picked up a minor tendon injury. Positively he's recovered well, will be back this autumn and remains a very exciting novice chaser. I could see him improving throughout the season and be one for a spring Festival. The best is yet to come." Noel Fehily

It was one of the big disappointments of last term that Kado De Joie’s first season over fences lasted just one race.

With the top class James Bowen on board Kado was a little unfortunate not to win at Sandown due to interference at the last obstacle. James looked very confident approaching the fence, Kado was going nicely but the eventual winner jumped badly right handed which stopped Kado in his tracks.  The distance between the pair at the line was a fast diminishing head.

It was frustrating but to subsequently learn he picked up a tendon strain put everything into perspective. Since the injury Kado has spent his time under Noel’s patient care and thankfully has responded really well to treatment.  He’ll be back this season, will remain a novice and can certainly win over fences.
