Hidden History

Trained by Dan Skelton

FORM 1-31-0212-1000P OR 123

"Won and was second for us in his only two starts. He always looked to have the stamp of a chaser and was always going to be a better chaser. He is one that we're looking forward to this season" Dan Skelton - Trainer

A horse we’ve always loved but he suffered intermittent lameness problems with his previous trainer. We took the radical step to move the horse mid-season to Dan Skelton but this did return some very pleasing results.

On stable debut he won at Uttoxeter beating Wellington Arch who then won at the Aintree Festival & ran 3rd at Punchestown off a much higher mark. The form looked strong so he headed to Perth at the end of April but the combination of sharper track, trip short of his optimum and a slowly run race saw him beaten in a tight finish by a neck.  He showed a tenacious attitude at Perth and went out on his shield.

Hidden History made his chase debut at Aintree (8th Nov) when winning a competitive 3m Novices H’Cap under Harry.  Pre-race Dan warned the owners their horse would improve for the run so we had to be delighted with the outcome.  We then headed to Sandown (5th Dec) in confident mood but for some reason the real Hidden History did not turn up.  It was the same story (19th Jan) at Lingfield where he was beaten a mile from home.

After a wind operation … Dan suggested a run over hurdles would do Hidden History the world of good so he lined up at Uttoxeter (14th March) with Kielan Woods on board.  Finishing 8th doesn’t sound great but Kielan was positive about the run.  Unfortunately when appearing at Ayr (17th April) Hidden History was pulled up and finished slightly distressed.  Thankfully he was fine the next day.
