Giantsgrave

Trained by Dan Skelton

FORM -1-30F-  OR – 118

"It's important to thank the owners who have given unwavering support, have been very understanding and as a team have only wanted the very best outcome for the horse. Giantsgrave had a nasty injury but hopefully he is back on an upward curve." Noel Fehily

Giantsgrave’s first season over hurdles ended in mid February when he took a nasty fall at Newbury.  He was upsides the eventual winner when jumping the last flight but hit the top bar and came down. Unfortunately ‘The Giant’ was injured, he fractured his C6 vertebrae but the care he received from the Newbury veterinary team was first class.

Understandably sore when returning to Hagg Hill he was also suffering from ‘Ataxia’ which left him unstable and uncoordinated. Thanks to his own keen spirit and wonderful care from the Hagg Hill team Giantsgrave is now on the road to recovery.

He seems well in himself and we’ll see how he copes with the rigours of full training in the autumn.  It would be wonderful to have this very talented horse who last winter warranted a ‘Challow Hurdle Grade 1’ entry back on the track.
