Ed began training in October 2010, renting a 24-box yard at St Gatien Stables in Newmarket, and sent out his first runner, Listed winner Riggins, on November 27, 2010. Since then, he has grown the business steadily, relocating four times before settling permanently at Kingsdown Stables in Upper Lambourn in December 2016. Ed has trained over 600 winners and recorded at least one Stakes winner every year since taking out his licence. His string has strengthened consistently, producing three Group 1 winners: Starman, Dreamloper and Makarova. A hands-on trainer, Ed values communication and strong relationships with horses, staff and owners. Raised riding rather than racing, he developed an early passion for the sport and pursued training from a young age.
